Course: Internal Affairs Class [SOMERSET COUNTY ONLY!!!]
Course Description: This two day training course will familiarize the Internal Affairs Officer with the Attorney General’s directives for conducting Internal Affairs investigations. The course will cover in part; the difference between criminal and administrative investigations, interviewing department members, maintaining and tracking of records, confidentiality of the investigations/files, Garrity Warnings, Weingarten representatives, and the proper use of forms utilized while conducting Internal Affair investigations. Additionally, this training will cover Internal Affairs statistics and reporting forms as required by the Attorney General’s Office. This course is required for officers who will be assigned to conduct Internal Affairs investigations.
